How to Sign a PDF Without Printing and Scanning It
Create a clean digital signature image and place it on a PDF form or letter without printing anything.
What kind of signature this is
Placing an image of your handwritten signature on a PDF is an image signature. It is accepted by many colleges and offices for forms and letters, but it is not the same as a legally certified digital signature. Check what your recipient requires.
Create the signature image
Sign in dark ink on plain white paper, take a well-lit photo and crop it tightly. A signature tool can clean the background so that only the strokes remain, which looks neater on a document.
Place it on the document
Open the PDF, choose the page, and drag the signature to the signature line. Resize it so that it looks natural and does not cover text.
Save and verify
Download the signed PDF and open it to check the signature sits where you wanted. Keep the original unsigned copy as well.
Keep your signature safe
Anyone with an image of your signature could misuse it. Share signed documents only with the intended recipient, and avoid posting them publicly.
