About this tool
What is Random Name Picker?
Random Name Picker chooses one name from a list at random. Paste the names, press pick and get a fair result. An option to remove each winner after they are chosen makes it easy to run through a whole class without repeating anyone.
Useful when you need to
- Choose who presents next in a class
- Pick a volunteer without anyone feeling singled out
- Draw a winner for a small event or quiz
- Decide an order for viva or demo turns
How to use
How to use Random Name Picker
01 Add the names
Paste names with one per line, or separated by commas.
02 Pick
Press Pick Random Name to choose one entry.
03 Remove if needed
Turn on auto-remove to take the chosen name out of the list, so it is not picked again.
04 Copy the result
Copy the result if you want to share who was chosen.
Tips
Get better results
- Use auto-remove to work through an entire list in random order.
- Check for duplicates in your list. Names that appear twice have a better chance.
- Let the class watch the pick, so the process is visibly fair.
